Water Training 2010
The five learn-to-swim levels and the objectives for each level include:

Learn to Swim
Levels 1 – 6
Level I: Elementary aquatic skills
- Water entry and exit-in shallow water
- Breath control and underwater swimming-submerge mouth, nose & eyes
- Buoyancy on front-supported
- Buoyancy on back-supported
- Changing direction and position-rollover from front to back, vice versa
- Supported swim on front and back with alternating arm action
Level II
- Water entry and exit-in chest deep water
- Breath control and underwater swimming-submerge head, blowing bubbles
- Buoyancy on front-unsupported
- Buoyancy on back-unsupported
- Changing direction and position-rollover from front to back, vice versa
- Treading water-unsupported in chest deep water
- Swim on front with combined arm action-unsupported
- Swim on back with combined arm action-unsupported
- Swim on Side-supported
Level III
- Water entry and exit-in deep water
- Breath control and underwater swimming-submerge & retrieve object
- Buoyancy on front-front glide, unsupported for two body lengths
- Buoyancy on back-back glide, unsupported for two body lengths
- Treading water in deep water
- Swim on front-front crawl
- Swim on back-back crawl
Level IV
- Dive in deep water entry
- Feet first surface dive
- Underwater swim at least three body lengths
- Survival float in deep water
- Treading water in deep water
- Swim on Front-front crawl, breaststroke components of butterfly
- Swim on Back-elementary backstroke, back crawl
- Swim on Side-including scissors kick
Level V
- Shallow dive in deep water, underwater swim in deep water-15 yards
- Tuck and pike surface dives
- Flip turns, front and back
- Treading water-2 minutes minimum
- Swim on Front-50 yards front crawl
- Swim on Front 25 yards each of butterfly and breaststroke
- Swim on Back 50 yards of back crawl
- Swim on Back 25 yards of elementary backstroke
- Swim on Side 25 yards of sidestroke
